bamboo iconAbout Bamboo

bamboo plant Tell someone you're planning to decorate with bamboo and they may wonder if you have taken too many trips to the islands or had one too many drinks with the little umbrellas.

Bamboo is emerging as an attractive alternative for cabinet, floor and furniture construction. Areas once dominated by the more traditional hardwoods, Oak, Maple and Poplar. Flooring is still the most likely use for bamboo in the home, but designers today are using this strong, versatile grass all over the house, for everything from kitchen cabinets to countertops, cutting boards to serving bowls, shower curtains to dining room chairs.

The appeal of bamboo is often its clean, airy look and perhaps its association with warmer climes, but there's more to it than that. It has greater tensile strength than steel; it's a sustainable, environmentally friendly material (it grows fast enough to be harvested within three to five years without depleting natural resources, and it regenerates quickly); and it can cost less and last longer than red oak, the wood most commonly used for flooring.

  bamboo iconMore About Bamboo
Bamboo is a grass, and like other grasses it has a short growth cycle of approximately five years, depending on the variety of bamboo. Unlike hardwood, with a growth cycle 3 or 4 times longer, bamboo is truly nature's renewable resource.

The rich, warm tones of the carbonized caramel color or the light, natural hues of neutral blond color, with nature's beautiful growth patterns, grains, and growth joints inherent only in bamboo, make it truly a product that enriches the environment and value of any commercial, residential, or product application.
